I'm considering getting a V8 turbo around a 97 model. Only thing is what is the right coulur or should I say the colour that looks the best and makes people go 'wow!' when they see the car. I've literally been bashing my head against a wall debating over this for a long time . Im thinking either Racing Green or Azure Blue?

Any suggestions would be immensley appreciated.

What ever floats your boat, purely personal, you buying it to impress, or 'cause you like it?

There's no substitute for seeing the colours on a car before you decide..

I had british racing green on my first esprit with a tan interior. Current car silver (new aluminium in lotus speak!). I've found that the ligher colours show up stone chipping much less than the darker colours.

There's lots of pics of cars in different colours in the owners pages of www.lotusespritworld.co.uk

If I was going to change..: deep purple looks great, black with a black interior is mean (!) but also chrome orange is great if you're an exhibitionist

Lots of the 97's ive seen are red for some reason.. can't really work that out (ferrari wannabees maybe?).

98-on cars get a nicer interior (in my opinion) if you didn't already know this.

cheers
Rob

Thanks for the help guys.

simon. I am buying it cos i kike it. I would never buy a car just to impress cos at the end of the day you've got to drive and enjoy the thing, but with a car like the esprit, the fact of the matter is it does turn heads and thats a huge added bonus, so I want to exploit that as much as I can. (I'm not trying to be a flash git...ermm!)

Cheers

Well, in that case, for me it has to be white, with a black hide interior, or maybe yellow/black, perhaps green/tan, no, blue/tan, on the other hand........

I previously owned a Yellow and a White Esprit and have seen them in every other color available except Purple and Orange. The Esprit looks good in almost any color but I found that my Azure Blue '97 really gets people's attention. Also, while the '98+ Esprits did get an updated interior, they also lost the hoop rear wing which I consider to be the nicest one ever put on an Esprit.

Yes, agree it looks good, but you have to lift your luggage OVER it as its fixed to the body, not to the tailgate.

Good choice!

My first Esprit was in Ruby Red (or Inferno as I liked to call it!) and it looked excellent.

Plumped for the new Laser Blue this time round which also, IMO, looks spot on

Take a look at it being used in anger on the Elvington track day

..with black leather.

If you want people to look twice there's no substitute.
There are very few cars that work in orange, this is the best of them. Gorgeous.
