Finally got the car I've been hankering after for a year, the previous owner got a Pantera and is spending money on that instead!

'81 dry-sumped turbo Esprit with the compomotive split rims a-la Essex cars, it's black and is currently being resprayed black too! Hideous red cloth interior has been yanked out and done out in a very tasteful magnolia leather, mechanically it's sound, just a sticky wastegate and a new exhaust needed which should be fun! FSH with engine rebuild 30k ago, it's a 65k miler. Bit high?

I wanted the most polar opposite car to my Marcos I could think of. I needed a small capacity forced induction, mid-engined coupe made in Britain for cheap money - not many options!

It'll be on the road in January, the missus will be driving it to Le Mans while I drive the Marcos so I've got the winter to get her used to it. She used to have a VVC MGF so should be blown away by this both class and handling wise.

Good to be here, the Marcos section is dead (

Hi yeti, welcome on board!! Nice choice of car but as said a pic please

Re the Marcos, I sat in one the other day when they were officially launched in NZ. They aren't bad at all esp with the 5.7L Chevy V8, sounded great - I didn't drive it though. Spoke to the director of Marcos as he wanted to know a females opinion on the colour options and overal shape, as the pale green one I seen didn't do the car any justice. He nearly ran away after I told him I was a colour chemist and analysed the paint job - (too scary for him perhaps )

Back to the Esprit, for posting pics just go to the search function and am sure you will find heaps of info on how to show a pic.

Cheers
Kylie

As I said, it's in bits at the moment I'm afraid, last time I went to look at it, it looked as though someone had burned it out! (

I anticipate getting it back around Christmas, I'm in no hurry as the Marcos is being worked on too at the moment, big money all round.

Kylie, that green car you saw was the TSO and the man was Tony Stelliga, saviour of our company! My car is an older model, '91 chassis but with new 330hp engine, brakes, suspension and bodywork - shocks the hell out of most people as it looks like an old 60s car but goes like the fastest of modern cars. Great fun at 870kg!.
