Esprit Oil Pressure Valve?
Discussion
The oil pressure relief valve is built into the oil pump body. The earlier 907 variants were assembled with a roll-pin that could be removed, allowing adjustments.
All of the later (910) pump bodies I've seen do not have this roll-pin, and cannot easily be disassembled.
The valve can stick if your oil starts to varnish/sludge. If your's is sticking, you may want to flush the engine with lightweight clean oil a few times. Also consider using a product like 'gum-out'.

I've followed all of the paths through the pump body and can find nothing at all - just holes and paths - is it possible that the guy who rebuilt the motor 1500 miles ago (and 7 years ago) misplaced it and put it together without it?
You won't find a separate valve body or removable component. It's built into a drilled passage in the body that is plugged after the installation. All you will see is a round, flush plug on the flange. It's not designed to be servicable.
