Priming the oil pump
Discussion
I have just replaced the annulus in the oil pump and was considering how to make sure the system is primed OK.
I saw a suggestion to use an electric drill, but no room for that with the engine in.
In my toybox I have an electric starter for an RC plane. So I dug that out, using the fan belt looped over the oil pump sprocket and starter. Pushed the button and it pumped the oil through in no time. (helped by having the cam housing off, just pumped until the oil spouted out)
Cost of the starter in NZ is $57.50 (20 GBP). A useful addition to the tool kit?

Trouble is you may find the need for an RC plane to with it...
