The 2003.5 aluminum air conditioning knobs are now available. Got mine from JAE. They come with Lotus genuine parts stickers on the bags. They certainly look a lot better to me than the plastic ones.

Do you know if they will fit the G-car control shafts?

They fit the shaft of my car which is a 2003 Esprit. The part number on the package with Lotus log is A082P4493F description is "KNOB", "CLIMATE CONTROL". The part number on my JAE invoice is slightly different: P-4493-082. Each knob is $19.50.

Forgive this novice question - but would these fit a 97 V8?

When I ordered them for my '98, you had two choices: (1)Grind down the stalks or (2)Drill out the holes in the new knobs. It's easier to grind down the stalks.

However, these may be the "new and improved" ones that are supposed to retrofit (dunno really, you should ask JAE as they will be honest with you).

JAE told me that they would fit to my existing controls on my 2001 Esprit. But $75+ for knobs!!! It is alittle pricey...

I installed the knobs on my 2003 & 2 fit perfectly. The other 2 i adjusted with a dremel. If you go slow with the dremel it is no big deal.

Worth the price now that they are on. Like LOTUSSTV said though, you have to break out the dremel to make the knobs fit on the two outer knobs (they are plastic stalks, unlike the center two which are metal).

Don't repeat my mistake where I actually forced the stalk on one of them, and now I can't adjust the temperature. The stalk now moves in and out (secured it with the new knob though so I won't lose it in the bowels of the car). I hope it is an easy fix. Anyone have experience with this particular problem?
