I'm new to esprit ownership--but not to the love of the car. I own a 99 Esprit V8 with 7,000 miles. The car is like new--everything works and it runs and drives great---however I have a couple of concerns, one being, I checked my coolent fluid in the header tank recently and found kind of a rusty sludge around the rim and cap, the fluid itself was still pretty clear--it was not there when I bought it but I also drove it 1700 miles home--I'm going to flush and refill-but is there any other recomendations. My next ? is something I new about, however I didn't think it affected post 98 MY---and that is the coolant loss due to "pourous" block--is this something I will eventually experience, is there anything that can be done before it's to late---and is this covered under some kind of recall. appreciate any tips on keeping my esprit on the road---Thanks randy99

Definitive answer to the coolant loss issue is here:

I have heard of a couple of engines where "bars-leak" fixed the coolant loss problem - ie no need for a re-build.

Sounds like a good idea to flush and refill your coolant btw.
