Safety side impact bars

I am in the process of sorting engineering for the Esprit, part of the rules insist that it must have side impact protection.

Its not a problem I have come across before but after another PH'r needing them put into his similar aged Ferrari it has me wondering.
I have searched many sites but can only find one reference to the esprit having side impact bars, I have also seen comments on another site that state the same and that it forms part of a integrated roll over cage.

Now were these only the export models as both US and AU insisted on side impact bars or was it across the range. I note that the chassis number lists the market it was bound for and mine states domestic. Does this make a difference?

Do you mean the metal beams inside the doors? They are certainly different for USA and Canada.
Have a look in section 10.15 in the parts book.

Yes, USA and AU law required the metal beam across the door to protect in event of side impact. I think it was the same across the board but need to find out - preferably without dismantling the door.

All models have the door beams, just that the US/Canada beams are different.

The US door beams have a steel channel reinforcement bolted down the centre of the aluminium beam, perhaps that is the difference.
