Odd noise when car in swithed off

My Espirt V8 has started to make an electrical noise after the car has been switched off, it seems to be coming from under the engine but I am have problems putting my finger on it. Could someone please give me an idea on what this could be.

Could you describe the noise? It's not the fans or the fuel pump shutting down is it?

I think the plenum purge pumps continue to run until the car has cooled.

I think you hit the proverbial nail. Unless there is an associated "check engine", I don't think there should be much concern...
