For a long time I've harboured a dream of owning a classic sports car and nothing conjures up my youth (late 70's early 80's) better than a Lotus Esprit - and looking at prices it's not beyond possibilities.

However, I'm 6'6" tall with long legs (36" inside leg) and I wonder whether I need to "dream on" and find a car that's got a bit more room inside. Any tall Esprit drivers out there?

Alternatively, I live near Oxford and work in Slough so anyone with a Guigiaro Esprit in that corridor who would be willing to let me try one for size would be the ultimate judge.

Apologies if this kind of thing has been posted before but I couldn't find anything recent.

Thanks

You'll find several threads on TLF. This is typical -

But you might want to head over to LEW for the specific guide/advice -

I am 6'5 aso with 36 inside leg. I own an early stephens.

Its a squeeze getting in and out but once in-- its pretty comfortable, I have driven fairly long distances.

so no its not an issue unless you want to track it.

I'm 6ft 5 too and the only Esprit I could fit in was an early Stevens Esprit (1988). So I bought one and have had it for 10 years. They didn't put much padding on the bottom of the seats. I understand Mike Kimberley orchestrated this at the time, as he was tall and wanted to fit in an Esprit.
