having an issue with a misfire on start up on 96 V8 clears after about 10 - 15 seconds
also when pulled up on busy high street stopped engine for approx 4 mins and when started up again it was popping and farting like it had a vindaloo the previous night, did this three times then seem to clear itself and was ok ----------------bit embarassing on busy high street. any ideas ????!!??

Has it rained or your engine got wet? If so then water has got into the plug well. On pre 98 cars, there isn't any drained holes for the water to go. I would look at this first.
After that, leads, plugs etc.
Try and work out events that led upto it happening, this usually helps.
