This is exactly what I would prefer right here. Now, the only dilemna would be, how many of these in white exist in GOOD working condition AND good cosmetic condition, WITHOUT the blue interior and in the U.S.

Not many im willing to bet, and if they do, they are all probably priced too high, or don't exist anywhere where I would be able to have someone carefully look it over and give me the run down on it.

So sad

Damn, pic is not coming up, can anyone host it for me? If so, let me know your email and I will send it!!

Dr. Hess -

No, it is an SE the one I have a pic of. I want to post this particular pic, as I feel it captures the exact, how do I say, image of what I had in mind.

Pete I. on the board has a white SE with grey interior. Runs great, I've wrenched on it some and it is a nice car. Might cut you a real deal on the right price!

Really? Is he looking to sell it? Do you have his email?

By the way, here is the pic, I managed to throw it up on my crappy site, which is basically now just a picture post for things like this LOL

www.juststuff.freehosting.net/custom.html

To me, when I hear Lotus, this is the image I have in mind. Mainly because its exactly (less the chrome) the first Lotus I ever laid eyes on when I was a kid.

Where did you get that picture? That is my old car. You can see more pictures of it on my web site. I'm curious how the car is doing and who has it now.

Some of mine here...

She has the Blues, Not my 1st choice of colour (cream was) but they are in very good state and do not show the dirt in the cracks at all which helps them look good.

I think LOADS of the white cars were blue interiored, But i know a guy with a N/A in white with Dark grey/black interior and have seen light grey too.
I think white car with cream/white leather and black carpets would look pretty cool.
Oddly,i think a black SE with black leather and white carpets would be cool too.

...err,Red with red leather and black carpets?

Ok,thats it!
(before the girlfriend moved in and changed everything,i had a green toilet, bath & sink. Green bathroom walls, shower curtain, roller blind and towels... Do NOT let me near any paint ever )

Wow, really!! I have been to your site a ton of times in the past and always enjoyed the many detailed pictures. How do you know for sure it is your car? Is there something inparticular in thge picture that makes you sure its yours?

What a coincidence

I actually dont remember where I got it, but I would have to say more than likely from Ebay. I cant remember what it went for either!!

You should look up the VIN on Carfax and see if you can hunt it down.

Those are very nice pictures!! I always enjoy a perfect white Esprit. Its so subtle, yet so powerful.

I have to admit, I am not crazy for the blue interior, and would prefer black, grey, tan, or even red. I like red interiors (2 of 3 of my Mustangs had a red interior and it really grew on me..they were white too ) Plus when the S4 came out, a local dealer had a white S4 with a red inside, and it looks pretty damn nice!

I don't know how many are out there, but I found one back in January and bought it!

It looks exactly like Hess' car, a '89 non-SE; Monaco White over Nimbus Grey, Grey leather, silver-painted wheels, totally unmolested with 6200 (now 7200) original miles and no wing, airbags or ABS. I think the Stevens body is at its most gorgeous without wings or flares, and I prefer the pinched-in non-SE door sills.

The only mods I plan are a period Blaupunkt CD player (done), 16" rear wheels from an SE, and uprated brakes. Maybe replace the corrugated black panel surrounding the rear licence plate with a smooth one.

And yes, I think I probably paid too much!

Best regards,
Tom

I know for sure it is my old car. I put the rubber lip spoiler on. It has my old chrome wheels, it has the same cellular antenna on the tailgate, it has the same Esprit S4s decal I put on the quarter windows (the original emblems were missing and a friend got me the S4s style instead).

Last time I checked in Carfax, the car had been registered in Lousianna. The serial number on the car is 65066.

Hey Tom,
That wasn't on eBay some time back, was it? I seem to recall a car like mine but with 6K miles going on eBay. I think I saved a picture of what the engine bay should look like when it is clean. I live on a dirt road.

Thing is,it would be very easy to make the blue interior black. Would just take a bit of your own time and the dye costs very little.
Some pictures of me re-dyeing my steering wheel here:

Dave (Superdave) has re-done his mag seats and another owners interior with the same kit in red and black, and has a lot more knowledge of using it than i.

Always an option for you though, and may mean you don't have to pass on a car purely due to the blue.
