Does anyone have this problem as well? The ABS light on my V8 Esprit has been coming on and off intermediately. Except for the annoying light which is tempermental at this time, I can't really tell the difference in braking. So I figure a new speed sensor and I am off the hook, right? So I thought...

I sent it up to get it serviced at the Lotus Dealership to find out I need a new ABS Computer Sensor (part# A082J4399F) for a nominal fee of $2,474.00 plus labor!!! I truly trust my service guys and the integrity of their word so if this is what they tell me I need to buy, then I believe them.

I love my Esprit and accept all the quarks. After all, having to deal with the quarks is part of the Esprit experience, right? But how is it that a car with 10K miles can have a computer sensor already go bad?!

Has anyone else experienced this problem with their V8? I'm ready to lose my cool...

Sounds incredibly expensive to me.

I suggest you post your question on the Yahoo US Esprit group - sorry, I can't remember the URL but ErnestM is certainly on it, he should be able to point you in the right direction.
