Several of the cars I have been looking at have osmosis blisters in places. Being as I am looking at 30 year old cars, am I going to be lucky to get a blister free car, does it really matter anyway? What I dont want to do is to pay top price for a car that needs a repaint anyway of course.

No I don't think that it's age related. I've got two esprits, both 25+ years old. Neither have or show any signs of osmosis. As I understand it is due to moisture being present when the car is originally painted (unlikely) or is repainted (much more likely).

One of the cars I looked at claims to be original paintwork the other has definitely been painted. I wonder though if the time of year the car was built is a factor - ie an autumn build more likely to be damp before painting? Or maybe it was a rushed moulding that hadn't cured completely.
