Speedo Connection 1977 Esprit @ and inside trans
Discussion
I am in need of some assistance regarding how the speedo gear is retained inside the trans at the bevel gear. I do not have any info or pictures on how the whole assembly is put together. The gear inside the trans coming out out of plastic(?) housing through the case wall keeps fall out. When everything is put together, it still drops into the bottom of trans case. Everyone tells me I have everything and it should stay keyed to the bevel gear in the trans drive. No one seems to have detailed information or maintenance information regarding this matter. Does anyone have information or drawings on how the speedo is put together inside the trans on a 1977 Esprit?
I have also been told there is a shoulder that the bottom of the gear coming through the case rides on. Nothing there. Clear as mud?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Just ran across this website and I am very impressed. The forum was very informative on Lotus matter. Yes, I read everyone of them
Thanks,
