Anyone know of a website that has pics of Esprits painted in nonstandard (ie, nonuniform) color schemes? Or links to pics of Esprits painted in ways other than a uniform color? Obviously the Essex had a nonstandard color scheme, but I'm after pics other than what you see on the Essex. Thanks.

Sorry, that's a uniform color scheme...not what I'm after (beautiful as it may be)!! I once saw a red esprit where the guy had painted the tailgate vents black and it looked damn good. That type of stuff. Send pics if you have them.

Hey, if that's what you want me to paint on your car I will do it! LOL. I KNEW that when I put up this post I would get grief from BIBs and you (and others). I'm waiting for SUPERDAVE to chime in as well!!! Anyway, you're closer to what I'm after than BIBs, but you are still off the mark. Keep those pics coming, funny or not!!

Hey what's all this about me chiming in? I quite like it when owner's are brave enough to modify and change the colour of the esprit as long as it's tasteful. And tasteful is a matter of opinion. What I might think is nice might not be other people's cup-of-tea. It's why we are all different.
Here's a few of the usual that you'll see on the net

these two are the same car.

David Walters

Hi David, agreed, it can be a fine line between tasteful and not. I've always like orange for esprits but I'm not doing anything that dramatic. I like the base color of my GT, a very deep purple, almost black in certain light. But after all the work I've done on the car it's time for a respray and I want to have just a bit of fun. I want to paint some yellow accents, but beyond calipers (which stand out very nice from deep purple) I'm a well-inside-the-box thinker when it comes to paint schemes. Need ideas. On the other hand I'm quite happy with just the yellow calipers. Just please don't tell Kylie...you see my fate if you do!

Hi Mike, Only just realised it was you mate when I looked at your profile, how's it going? I haven't spoken to you in a while! I didn't realise your V8 was a dark purple? I always thought it was black. I would be tempted to either go gold, orange or red rather than yellow. I think gold or red may be better? You could paint front lower splitter and mirrors in an accent colour like the new 911 GT3 Rs?
Calipers are a safe bet. Make sure you tske them off and do them properly as there's nothing worse than seeing someone's car with them painted insuti with a brush.

Regards,

David

Do you mean this one? It used to belong to a good friend of mine Adrian Mugridge. He sold it about 5 years ago to a guy called Pete.

Hi David, good to hear from you too! Lower splitter was on the cards, but I'm glad you mentioned the mirrors because I was thinking of them as well. And yes, calipers off for sure. Thanks for the suggestions!
