I just bought a beautiful 1981 Lotus Esprit Turbo. It is fully original, also the silvergrey colour. I want to keep the car original, but recently I heard about "car wrapping". Since I'm a big fan of the Esprit that was shown in the Bond movie "For your eyes only" I'm thinking of having my car wrapped in that colour. I just don't know the colour code. I checked with the factory and they responded that "It is believed the Bond car was painted in Copper Fire Metallic." Does anyone have further information on this specific color? Also, does anyone have (good or bad) experience with having a glassfibre car wrapped?

Interesting idea - I am on the lookout for a white esprit (of course!) but can I find one! I have had an Alfa front end done in clear ventureshield for stone chip protection and it's very hard to see but it is clear on teh base colour. I wonder though do they go right round the panel edges or would you see a disconcerting line of the base colour round all the wrap sheets?

Just looked up a few prices - full wrap on a Range Rover under 2K versus full prep and respray on an Esprit 5K.

Worth thinking about!
