LOTUS ESPRIT QUESTION-ALL CAN HELP!!!

OK ive had my esprit for about 4 months....1990 lotus esprit SE...I have a few general questions and concerns.....What should the esprit turbo sound like?Mine you can hear a slight sound Whizzing sound not overly loud though.....Also what does it sound like when you let off the throttle......Mine has a kind of fluttering sound....Is that normal?

What would happen if i took the airbox off and just ran it with the filter in? Harmful or beneficial?

Also for some reason my car doesnt seem to be performing like it should.....Doesnt seem as fast off the line and sometimes it feels hesitant around 5000 rpms? Any ideas.....When i got the car i found that the secondary injector resistor was not connected...that made a big difference re connecting it.....Any other things i can look at?Any ideas at all?hehe?

Does JAE have a catalog they can send me?

Also im intnerested in any performance mods.
