Problems with 2nd gear on Esprit V8

Sorry to say mate, it`s the dreaded 2nd gear syncro on the V8 box. It`s bloody useless, not fit for the purpose regardless what others say, you should be able to use these cars with full power and not have to pee about double de-clutching or pussy footing about. You can nail a porshe, you can nail most other exotics, we just have a Renault 25 box which is pretty pee poor for the power.
Another lister has fitted the Renault 21 turbo box, straight fit other than swapping the bell housing, linkages just fit onto new box and you can pick one up from sale and wants on the Renault 21 Turbo website for about £100. There is a chap in London who has one, just been re-furbed 3 months ago and wants £100 for it.
The Renault 21 Turbo box is much strenghtened over the 25 box, as the 21 turbo boost comes in with a bit of a kick, hence needed beefing up. It is favoured by most of the chaps who make the kit cars e.t.c. and I know of one chap who has 400bhp and has had no problems!!
Chaps name is John 0208 540 4832, was available a few days back, but must be about 5 or so for sale. Also, you can get a whole car for about £200 scrap!!
