There's 3 points between 13th and 20th now, it's anyone's game.

I don't normally 'want' any team to go down, but I'd be pleased if Wigan did, purely because they're such a poorly supported club - the stadium always looks half empty. So many teams from the Championship would sell out nearly every game if they were promoted.

Would be good to get Forest and Leeds back, both teams I consider to be 'big' clubs. And it would be good to watch Man U stuff the Leeds scum on a bi-annual basis (provided past FA cup ties aren't anything to go by).

In our first year in the Prem we sold out pretty much every game, and it's slowly deteriorated over the years. I think this will happen to other 'small' clubs like Blackpool or West Brom (providing they stay up for six years straight.

Wigan itself has a population of about 80,000. 300,000 if you count the wider borough (wikipedia). You also have to consider that we are right in between Manchester and Liverpool.

I think our (Martinez's) playing style would be more suited to the Championship, but we'd sell our best players and struggle to get back up.

+1

Although West Brom may replace Blackpool. I don't fancy Blackpool's chances with their last game being at Old Trafford if they need to get something out of it.

Wigan's a RL town anyway, football will always play second fiddle to it.

Not quite so true - the average attendance at the DW/JJB/whatever it is now is higher for the football than for the rugby, according to football365.

I think you're right about the smaller teams like Blackpool et al, (Blackburn are also in the same boat as Wigan with no-one turning up to their games) but teams like Forest or Leeds wouldn't suffer from the same kind of dwindling attendances IMO.

I'd quite like Wolves to bugger off aswell, or if not change their manager. I really cannot stand that self-righteous Easter-Island statue lookalike tt.

Christ, don't tell those in the rugby/football thread. That would mean rugby types go to football games as well, which is clearly impossible. hehe

Wouldn't mind seeing Wigan, West Ham and West Brom go down... I'd like Blackpool to stay up though.

Hey, you won't see me on the other thread!

10-15 years ago, I would have agreed with you. Despite being a Union player as a boy, the Farrells and Radlinskis were my boyhood heroes.

Nowadays, I'm not so sure. Pro Union has made big strides since its inception. Top level RL is imbalanced imho and prem Union bores me. International Union is better though.

League is a beeter game IMO, purely because it flows better. I gave up watching Union after it became a game where the following happens.

1. Small guy on the side kicks the ball out of the ground.
2. Someone throws it in
3. Everyone jumps on top of the guy with the ball.
4. The ref blows up for offside
5. The small guy kicks the ball out of the ground
6. Goto 2

All in jest, but you get my point.

My Villa supporting Boss just bet $100 on Villa to be relegated @ 8/1. Says it all really.

I'd have given him 10-1, there's worse teams than Villa, inn fact probably 6 of them.
