At any point? Can they win part of the way through the game then?

well this double odds bet - arsenal to be winning by halftime, then by the end of the game it ends as a draw...

500quid - returns 7500 - total of 8k in your pocket

im tempted i have to say..

The odds change throughout the game depending on what goes on...

But it's good returns because bookies think it's less likely as Barcelona are the stronger team (if the odds are correct). 50% chance of Barcelona winning according to Betfair odds.

Do you think the odds are incorrect?

I see. I like the bet of them winning by half time and then draw by full time. But I wouldn't spank £500 on it!

yep.. i can imagine arsenal scoring early though... (been a arsenal fan since i was a baby so i might be biased) however... it is possible but 500 pounds is alot...

the odds of arsenal winning by halftime then drawing at the end? no however the odds being hugely stacked in barca's favour are...

recall the last few years - arsenal have done ok in the first leg then got humilated in the 2nd leg

Why? Arsenal won't be winning at half time. They won't be winning at any point I reckon.
HT: Draw, FT: Away Win

Rule 1: Never bet on your own side.
Rule 2: Bet with your head.

I suspect neither are being followed.

I can't see us getting anything out of the game tonight, Barcelona are just too strong going forward and our defence isn't the best.

yes The win will be twice as good... but the loss will be twice as painful.

Apply the Emotional Hedge: lay bet your team to win.

Edit: this is brilliant; looks like I'm not the first to use an emotional hedge bet... I always thought it was my stupid little idea. biggrin

As I said in your other thread, there are better odds available than the ones you're looking at.

hehe

How about see how it goes in-game. Based on the way the odds move, they will be as follows depending on outcomes:
-If Arsenal score first, it should send the odds down to ~2.5 and Barc's odds up to about 4. The draw won't move much after the first goal in the first half so may be around 4 still.
-If Barc scores first, the odds for Barc will drop to ~1.5. Arsenal odds will jump to ~15.
-If no goal scored in first half, Arsenal odds will be about 5, Barc odds about 2.5, draw about 3.5.

With this in mind... Ok, I have no damned idea what you can do to make decent money from it. hehe

Interestingly, www.soccervista.com doesn't have a prediction for these international games...

Oh, and on Betfair, the big money is being matched on Barc. So... perhaps all the fanbois are betting on Barc so laying Barc could be a cheaper/better option? I'll let you know at 10pm tonight. hehe

OP, your sounding like a bit of a novice. £500 sounds like far too much for you to be risking on this type of game, is it your money? I see your logic in that Arsenal usually perfrom well in the first leg but then your reasoning the arguement by dreaming of what you can buy. It sounds as if £800 would be a good return for you, why not just stick to your £50 stakes?

Me personally, i'm going for a Barca and Notts Forest double tonight, pays just under 3/1. Cannot see that Arsenal defence and keeper stopping Messi, Villa, Pedro, Xavi and Iniesta...

Good luck with whatever you do...

ETA, just read your other thread, why not put 250 on Arsenal/draw and 250 on Arsenal/Barca?

I'm just hoping for a good game, being an arsenal fan I would obviously love for them to win. If you can Blow £500 quid without it hurting financially then surely it's worth it! However think of 1 thing before you do, goes by the name of 'messi'
