Calling all Southern Hemisphere Rugby suporters! Warm up games are already underway so lets get chatting. Bulls lost badly to the Kings (old Eastern Cape) but had a second string side. Stormers beat Lions comfortably and new flyhalf showed they have backup in that position. Sharks play 1st warm up tonight. Keen to see how they start.

I'm looking forward to it already as well, being a canes fan - i am sure they will be there or there abouts, scrape into the top 4 and lose in a semi final (again). They did beat the chiefs in the weekend who can be a boger team with some good players but they played pretty well from the highlights reel I saw.
Will be interesting though, i can see a lot of players being rested for the majaority of teh season with the RWC coming up so I dont think/expect the standard to be as high as other years.

Exactly what Zuma and co. need in the form of an opposition though. And you can be sure that she doesn't love herself nearly as much as those in the ANC.
Stormers boy here. Would seem we're starting another year looking in fine fettel; we probably won't make the final.
After many years of wearing the navy blue of the Western Cape, these little disappointments become easier to accept.
Anybody know where I can get a supporters jersey in the UK for not silly money?

Well there is my brief foray into Saffer politics! I only have one English language channel in my temp place atm and that is CNN so I dont get much choice of what to watch!
Back to rugby. I think I would like to see, maybe every 2 years or 4 years in the middle of a World Cup cycle a small club world cup. HC winners, English Prem winners, Super 15 winners, French Super 14 winners, Celtic league winners, Currie Cup winners, Air New Zealand winners and whatever domestic thing the Aussies have. Eight club teams, straight quarters, semis and then a final.

The bloody Sharks were dire last night loosing 41 - 10 to the Lions, in there 1st warm up game. Hope they learned a good lesson and pick things up before the season starts in anger.
The Lions actually winning again, some sort of defensive alignment, with an actual game plan. I might be allowed to watch Lions games at home again. I was "banned" for the last 2 years by the wife, due to Lions matches causing a severe form of Tourettes syndrome followed by a continued severe depression. Things were starting to look up during the Currie cup and now with some Gumede money and a proper coach, I might again enjoy my Super 14(15) rugby again.DJC said:
