He's just broken the record for highest individual score in an ODI ... 200 not out!

What an amazing career he's had, and still going strong after 20 years at the top.
4 hundreds in his last 4 tests.
47 test hundreds.
46 ODI hundreds.
Most runs in test cricket and ODIs.

I know what you're saying.
It's a shame.
Just think how much better he'd have been if he'd stayed at Yorkshire.

Thought he wasn't going to get to 200 with Dhoni at the other end smashing it everywhere, glad he did.
Brilliant to watch him in that form.

Yes he was a charming polite young man,I was fortunate to organise a Yorkshire benefit match for Neil Hartley and he played in the team against our village team.It made the evening post headlines for the guy who bowled him out.PS He was 19 at the time and already predicted to be the next Bradman.

Absolute legend.

And long may he continue - world cricket is a better place with the likes of Sachin around.

I saw a documentary on him a while back , true gentleman.

He simply cannot go out due to his supporters, so resorts to going for a walk in the middle of the night just to get out

I believe he usually goes out with a disguise. And there is only really 1 road he can truly enjoy his Ferrari on. Bit of a petrolhead I think.

Anyway, what an epic innings today, and it really is like the icing at the top of a very very big cake. Well done Sachin!

A sensational effort to be sure but not the first or the highest in an ODI.

Belinda Clarke did this a few years ago, different game and different opposition.
Highest individual ODI score of 229 not out against Denmark in Mumbai in 1997 Women's World Cup

Pity he had to do it against us, but I will stomach the loss. It was worth it to see such genius in action! He is and will always be the master. The way he took on a fairly good attack with text book cricket should be taught to all kids before they get seduced by the "hit or miss" approach that is coming into the game through the 20/20 BS.

Has just gone passed 15,000 test match runs. Only record left now I guess is the 100 international 100s (he needs one more) and a test series win in Australia. India tour Australia in the winter which should be an interesting one.

Tendulkar is 39 soon, I wonder how long he will continue to play the game?

I suspect he will retire when he gets the 100 100. However, I think if he hasn't got it in a year then he will retire anyway.

He will be always remembered as the Little Master, he doesn't really need the 100 for that.

Finally just done it!
