Crap just been roped into a game of golf on boxing day. Staying with relatives who play and they want to go out on Boxing Day for a game. I have not picked up a club in maybe 10 years and was not great then. I thought golf would be something that I would get into once I get old and couldn't handle a kart any more.

I am going to be crap. I an going to hold them up, I am going to lose lots of balls, im going to spend most of the round (at least I know some of the lingo) searching for balls in deep rough/forests etc.

Im taking a hip flask, I may not win but at least I will be the most trashed at the 18th hole. drunk

I like your style hehe

I went last weekend for the first time in around 2 months since breaking my ankle. Was a nightmare, Surprising how quickly you lose rhythm and swing etc. Only managed the 9 hole because I haven't got full strength back in my leg yet, but it was bloody freezing! Good Luck thumbup

I waste at least 2 months of the year thinking about when I'm going to begin my 'season'. Unfortunately that means by the time I eventually hit the course, I am in the golfing 'mood' (golfists will know what I'm on about) and naturally expect to be as awesome (yeah, right) as when I put the clubs away in September. It therefore comes as a quite a shock to me when I take the club back with all the composure of an epileptic at a flash photography convention, and once at the top lunge wildly as though attempting to spear a small animal. The ball inevitably ends up in the lake to the right, the trees, or (most embarrassingly), the 9th fairway/green. Given I'll have turned up with a bag full of last seasons 'investments' (what do you mean, I don't need interchangable shafts?!), my first tee shot usually makes me look a bit of a tit.

I am hoping the snow at the moment hangs about a bit.
