IMO we are. Even if we end up winning the world cup is it really worth it.

are you serious?

there's been enough crowing since 1967 that England deserve to win trophies despite the national being serial under achievers

wrt to FC's salary I think it's mainly down to two things;

1 - Sven being very cute with his contract extention and setting the precedent

2 - the position is a rather poisoned challice so it does need an attractive package

do I think that £6.1m is the right money?

nope

If those figures are correct, and were available to the FA when they appointed him, that's crazy.

You could half his salary, and he'd still be the highest paid international manager in the world by a significant margin.

Bonkers, but then so is the money surrounding football at this level. Completely stratospheric, but those who recruited him clearly know what they are doing lol. He is a good manager in my view but no manager is ever worth that much money.

No one will be moaning about the money when the team are on the open top bus celebrating.
