I still rate Ronnie Whelans 30 yard lob over Grobbelaar against United as one of the best I have ever seen but can't find it on Youtube.

Wasn't it Burnley or Bristol City in the FA Cup ?
The greatest mystery in football is how he has a Champions League winners medal !

The best one I've ever seen is Gary Sprake playing for the great 70's Leeds team. In front of the Kop he has full control of the ball, no-one near him and goes to throw it out to his fullback. Apparently he changes his mind at the wrong time, pivots round too far and throw the ball into the empty net.

It has appeared on TV, but very rarely and I can't find it on YouTube etc.

The urban myth part of the story is that it happened very close to the HT whistle and as the players walked off either the Kop sang or the PA system started playing "Careless Hands" which was a Des O'Connor favourite at the time. I've only ever seen the incident but never heard the sound loud enough to know if the song part is true.

whoops.

Yeah, was against Burnley.

Haha. Yeah, there are some really good players who haven't won it, yet Traore has one.
