Cannot wait after yesterdays two crap games. Hopefully O'Driscolls team can carry on their six nations form and beat the Aussies. I am an England supporter by the way, just so fed up with out performance at the moment.

Ireland by 6.

Ireland are looking very rusty so far and are fortunate that Aus have failed to capitalise on a few chances and missed a few kicks. Ireland are picking off Australia's lineout almost at will though, so that could be profitable for them if they can get their act together. Thought Palu's sin binning was a joke!

Considering they haven't played together as recently as the Wallabies, bloody well done Ireland

Only saw the last half hour, but yeah definitely a decent game, Ireland repeatedly came back at them. They showed real spirit, something England have none of.

Ireland certainly the best European team of 2009.

Look at the players still in the team from the World Cup. The onfield mindset gets passed down. Great to see!
If Ireland won the next one, I'd be happy if the key players retired afterwards, because they would have earned it.
I never understood why after we got our hands on the Webb Ellis they all retired. To me it came accross that they were just out for themselves. Am I wrong or were they just too bleedin' old to continue?

You're wrong, in your own terms, they were too old to carry on.

The team that won the world cup was on the way down by the time WC came around, their peak had been the tour just before the WC and that is where they won it - for the first time the southern hemisphere teams knew there was a team that could beat them at any tiem and anywhere. But, by the final that team was being held together by tape and got over he line without playing their best rugby!! Also the soul purpose ans aim was to win the WC, there was no development plan for after winning it, hence we are in the mess we are.

On the Ireland front, their best chance to win it was the last WC and they blew it. This team has potential but I think a lot of the key players will be getting on a bit by the tim of the next WC. They are the best of the northern hemisphere at the moment but NZ will win the next WC, there will be so much pressure on them, not winning it is simple unexceptable!!!

They were the best side in the 6N certainly, but since then France have beaten NZ in NZ and this weekend they beat South Africa, so I'd say they were the form European side at the moment. Mind you, looking at the team sheet today, Ireland are only a 10 and a 12 away from an truly exceptional back line.

Sexton and D'Arcy could change that.
