Friday fight night had DeGale and Gavin fighting. DeGale is continuing at a good pace, every fight marking an improvement along measured lines.

Now Gavin. This was the first time Id actually got to see him fight. Oh my. Oh my oh my oh my! Can this boy box!

Put it this way, hes the best British boxer Ive ever seen at that age. He has skills to spare, frankly I think he has forgotten and lost more skills than most guys Ive seen box every acquire! What impressed me most was his accuracy, the speed, shapes, angles were all there, but everything was finding a target and he was doing it when also moving his feet quickly and going backward as Steve Saville came forward the few times he did.

The boy is stunning.

his style is made for the pro ranks,i think you`re right he is something special.that perfect blend of measured aggression coupled with an instinctive reaction and a full bag of tricks in his arsenal.
keep your eye out for a kid from london called george groves.he seems to have phenominal power and movement.early days yet but definately could grow into something spectacular.every time he throws hooks to the body i`m wincing in my chair!
