I know the main event is just about to start, so this is a bit late.

Anyone else watching?

Whaaa?!?

I was routing for Machida, but I was expecting a decision in Rua's favour there.

I think the rematch will be a better fight than that.

I was backing Machida, but Shogun was robbed.

Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

I can't see how they can be in the same weight class.

I thought the fight was closer than the commentators made it seem, but still.

Should be a good rematch though.

Neither did the scales. Johnson was 7lbs over.

Oh yeah, it was a pretty competative fight but I would only have given Machida one or two rounds.

Shogun was robbed, theyve both agreed to a rematch though and Dana has said it will happen soon. They should add it to the 105 card assuming theres no medical suspensions.

Rumble is an idiot for coming in half a stone over, thats pathetic for a pro and I hope he lost a lot of his purse, the japanese guys need to learn to cut weight though, theyre doing their skills an injustice against these huge cutters.

it seemed to me like they sort of cancelled each other out.one seemed to know what was coming and counter the shot /kick.i think rua should have got the nod but it was close.one thing is certain, my(and a lot of other people`s)feeling of machida`s aura of untouchability has beeb shattered.rua has given others a blueprint of how to nullify lyoto`s caginess

Was great to See Machida be pushed in that fight. I Cannot understand how the judges gave it to Machida.

In my mind Shogun was the aggressor most of the fight, and when Machida was being the aggressor Shogun was punishing him with counters.

There is no way they will fight at 105 as there was lots of rib & Thigh kicks so they will both be very sore at the moment.

Ditto.

I rate Shogun (at his best) but have watched Machida coming up for years wondering if his style would convince the TV people to give him the bigger fights I thought he deserved. Then being really pleased when he did get the breaks and continued to do so well.

Having done a form of karate similar to Shotokan before boxing I've been intrigued by his style and how it transfers to the cage and so, fascinated by how untouchable he seemed and hooked by the mystic he was building (plus the selfish reason of wanting to keep having the chance to see him match up to different opponents) wanted him to win. Love his training videos too.

But, I can't see how Shogun lost this one even after watching it back several times.

Maybe yet another case of how in MMA style match-ups (and good tactics) let one guy get another's number even if most others can't handle a particular fighter?

Having watched this recently, i can only assume that machida has a nice big fat contract to be champ for this year, hence why shogun got reamed.

Good point. It is also worth noting that he hasn't got a win bonus in his contract. According to state commission he got $200k with no win bonus.

Seeing as the judges are employed by the athletic commission and not the UFC I'd say you need to take your tin foil hat off.

Great event, to my mind velasquez had the performance of the night. Where next for him? I fancied frank Mir but he's got Congo at 107

The California SAC (who appoint the refs and judges) are widely believed to be a bunch of muppets.

Dana White is on record saying that he believes Shogun won.

Having seen him three times now he does look to be the 'real deal' coming up right now. I'd love to see him V Lesnar in a couple of years.

Also love watching Anthony Johnson; something special there, weight not withstanding.
