the 'tard picked wales
Ryan Joseph Wilson was born at St David's Hospital in Canton, Cardiff, Wales, to Danny Wilson, a rugby union player for Cardiff RFC, and Lynne Giggs (now Lynne Johnson). As a child, Giggs grew up in Ely, a suburb of western Cardiff, but spent much time with his mother's parents and playing football on the roads outside their house in Pentrebane..Quoted from Wiki. Sounds quite welsh to me.

A popular point of discussion this.Fact is, he's Welsh by birth and could never have played for England.
He played for England schoolboys but only because he attended an English school.
Giggs is British and his residency in England would have allowed him to play for England; there is officially no such thing as being a Welsh national (or any other of the 'home countries') so you can't change citizenship inside Britain.
FIFA shouldn't allow the UK to field four teams - the whole thing's a political lash up (pressure from the UK to keep four teams and TROTW wanting to keep the four weaker teams )

I always though they're teams from each country's FA players...hence the reason the jocks get a place in the ECL/Europa league independent from the EPL teams
Good work - I only skimmed the FIFA rules and made a guess as to why we are allowed four teams
when we have no right to.
FIFA would allow Giggs his choice of country (as long as the other regs on age and playing for the A team had been followed) so if he says he wasn't allowed to play for anyone but Wales then it must a local arrangement between the FA's of England and Wales since he must have had a qualifying (English)residency before he played a disqualifying Wales match.
It's a complete lash up and was probably unenforceable legally.
Next - Owen Hargreaves and why he would have been allowed to play for any of the British teams (besides Canada and Chermany)
[edit] The fact that we have four FAs shouldn't make any difference, local organisations and national teams have been refused FIFA recognition before; it's their international competitions that the national teams compete in so they make the rules and only the UK has been given an exemption even though it's one country legally.
UCL etc come under the UEFA remit so the rules are not the same.

Legend.
That's all.
from the days when he was terrorising rightbacks in europe as a 20 year old to the current day he is undoubtedly the footballer that any young player should aspire to be. That's all.
i had the pleasure of being at his last international game at the millenium stadium and it was heartbreaking that only 40,000 people or so could be bothered to turn out to pay their last respects to the guy.

But we are the only ones with multiple representation at FIFA.
There's gotta be some reason - and it's not going to be some romantic nonsense eg we 'invented' football.
To be have played at the highest level for the top club in the Premiership (in terms of them winning it) for the last two decades is a testament to the man himself.
To have achieved and then kept levels of fitness and dedication at his age after injuries that would have retired lesser men is an incredible feat.
Any footballer would be glad of a tenth of the titles and accolades he has won over the years.
I just wish he could kick with hs right foot a bit better. A genius with the left though. Better than Best? I don't know - in terms of what the teams he played in won of course, but who would you pay to go and see. Best for me every time, but Giggs would be second on the list if I was a Man U fan.
