Say what? He came on after 60 mins! Poor old Crouchy bags a brace to further enhance his international scoring reputation and gets the square root of fk all.

Sweet jesus.

That is all.

I thought it was a wierd choice, but then i couldn't think who else i'd have chosen. Crouchy did score twice, but he just poached really, didn't make a big impact on the game except for the goals.

Poaching is a polite way to put it. Even Gary Lineker would have been embarassed by the goal hanging that led to Crouch's goals!

I agreed with it.. The team were having a dip, he came on.. Everyone got into line again.

They get the ball to him and he makes something of it, he makes them get forwards and can put the ball onto their laces.

Crouchy always does the job when brought in for England.

It seems odd that he is then criticised for only doing it against the small teams.

He doesn't get picked regularly against the bigger teams....Heskey does, and he doesn't do it against the bigger teams either!

Up front is going to be a problem position for England in S. Africa. No obvious back up for Rooney and his inevitable injury problems come the finals!

Trouble with crouch is he had two good tap ins, but was cack the rest of the 90 minutes. I didnt have the benefit of TV (was sat behind the West goal).

Beckham landed a beautiful cross on his chest and he showed a total inability to control it. He spilled passes, and his gangly legs got tangled on many occaisions.

I actually thought Carlton Cole did very well - the Belorussian defense were cacking themselves everytime he was in the box. Its a shame he was so soft against Ukraine.

As st and as disabled as Crouch looks, he is scoring for England. Like above, he is scoring alot more than the experienced, composed and controlled overpaid lawnmower that is Heskey. I couldn't care less if Crouch could only walk everywhere and couldnt trap a ball, he wins most stuff in the air (and so he should) and poaches alot of goals which good strikers should do. It isn't cheating.

He is scoring, give him a chance if Defoe and Rooney are unfit. He should be 3rd choice with out a doubt. It's not the means that matter, it's the end (the goal).

Crouch didn't have his best game in an England shirt on Wednesday - but he scored two goals. If Owen contributed fk all to the game but banged in two then there's be plaudits from all over.

I was gutted when we sold Crouch as when he plays, he invariably scores. I'd have him in the team ahead of Heskey all week long.

The problem I have with Crouch is that when he plays, he doesn't hold the ball up anywhere near enough. It seems to bounce off him randomly and ends up putting a lot more pressure on the rest of the team by gifting possession to whoever we're playing. Granted he scores goals, but if he scores two and the opposition score three, where's the good in that. A better team than Belarus would have hurt us the other day.

For me Heskey does better at holding up the play and bringing others into the game. That's what he's put in the side for, as painful as his other play can be. Crocuh, on the other hand, wins nothing like enough first or second ball, especially given his height advantage. Be honest at how often he's second best in the air - it's woeful.
