Yep, i captain City of York mens 3s in Yorkshire Div 2. Drew our first game and lost our second to probably the worst 2 teams in the league, but have since won 8-0 and 2-0 and up to 2nd in league, i can see this being a rollercoaster season for us!

I have played for Didsbury Northern up here in Manchester for the last 9 years. I have given up this year with the birth of my second son. Hopefully, only a couple of years off the pitch. This will be the first season I've not played since I was 11 - that's 24 years of hockey. I am seriously missing it.

Used to play in the Yorks Div for Adel, captained a team up there.

Then came down to play in the Kent Open League Div 1 when I moved to London, then got bored in Kent League and moved to Adsicombe...

Have been out for the last year with various injuries but still made EG saints and Sinners tour and play a few games.

I should have been doing the following tours but didnt have the time or was injured:

Silz/EG (I choose EG)
Wakey
Worthingham
Dublin/Cambridge

Some other I forget... once back and fit I will be playing again.

I used to play county U18 about 20 year ago! Then I just stopped and haven't picked up a stick since. Think just played too much when I was younger.

Now my 9 year old daughter has joined Fareham hockey club and plays at school. She loves it and is fantastic. Also I never understood why my Dad would come and watch me play in the pouring rain and freezing cold but I love watching my daughter play and it all makes sense.

Maybe I should join the vets and see if I can still do it. My brother still plays at 41 but he is a lot fitter than me.

Yep, 'Barn Doors' is playing in goal for us this season.
I'll be seeing him tonight and tomorrow if you want me to pass on your regards?

We made it Wakey this year as team S.H.I.T - Special Hockey Intelligence Taskforce biggrin Also did Bowden and Solihull (normally go Saints and Sinners with 'The Fairweather Players' that weekend). I did Loughborough and Bridlington with other teams too - During the season is when i rest!

Yep, 'Barn Doors' is playing in goal for this season. I'm guessing you know him either through tour, he is a bit of a vet' now or through the team he plays for when he's down south (minds blank - can't think where he works)?

He was at Adel and in the touring side Waddle (Wakefield + Adel) with me when we did the Silz tour for several years.

He moved to York and couldnt justify the traveling back to Leeds to play except when making appearances and I then moved to London.

Still keep in touch when he is down in London and using the dreaded facebook, or in the unlikely event that we are actually organised enough, we meet up on tour (last one bournemouth when Adel came to visit).

Tell him Oz from London says hello.

Will do. Yes Kev is worryingly obsessed with facebook!
Edited earlier post as saw your later post saying you were at Adel.
Kev arranged Silz again this year, only it was all York players this year.
Small world anyway! or maybe it's just that Kev's met that many people through hockey or as we call it 'giving blood' biggrin
