With winter fast approaching, I'm really getting the snowboarding itch (so to speak) as I didn't get much done last year, and the 'what bindings' thread is the straw that broke the camel's back, I really can't wait any longer, and we need more snow chat around here hehe

So, what's everyone doing this winter then? going boarding / skiing anywhere good? Anyone just getting started, doing a season, instructing etc?

I'm hoping to get a Scandinavian road trip in with a few mates v.soon, and a road trip to the alps has been confirmed post-christmas. I'd like to get away over xmas but if we do it'll be an uber cheap one. Would love to get back to Chamonix this season but we've yet to formally decide where we'll end up. I was really surprised to see how much the lift pass prices have gone up!

Your turn smile

Only learned to snowboard since moving to Dubai a year ago (yes, I know, random), but hoping to do a few days in Lebanon after New Year. Have no clue about equipment as I don't own my own stuff.
Can anyone recommend a good beginner's buyer's guide website?

Cheers.

Feel free to drop me an email through my profile PhillT if you want some buyers advice emailing through. I'm just in the middle of setting up an outdoor shop and we're putting loads of guides together for the site. It's not live yet, and we won't be selling snowsports gear this season, but happy to help if you need some pointers smile

Just booked to go on my Uni ski trip to Tignes on the 13th December. Usually get free trips with my family but a new house has eaten all my mums cash and i couldn't bare a year without hitting the slopes. Can;t really afford it but you only live once and i have acurrently unused but sizeable overdraft. Last year they took over 250 and it looks amazing so i'm already far too excited. Managed to stop myself buying the k2 kung fujas my heart so desires, but a new jacket is proving difficult to resist.

I should be off somwhere end of feb with the Mrs.

Last year we went to Tignes and she complained that it was a bit steep for her smile

Possibly going to Avoriaz as not been there in about 10 years and loved it last time i went!
