I know this part of the forum tends to be the preserve of footballists, but a few of us were thinking about organising a meet at the new (well, slightly new-ish) indoor snow slope at Hemel Hempstead in the near future, possibly Saturday 17th October.

More info here if anyone's interested:

I would of loved to have come along to this but I'm having my cruciate fixed on tuesday.

Wrecked it due to some spirited skiing in march frown

Post up how it goes as I'm only up the road in dunstable to smile

Regards

Matt.

Gash.

Used to live right next to the old dry slope up there, moved down to ciderland just as building work started!

Whats the new place like? Good slope?

I've been there a couple of times before. The slope is pretty short (you can get an idea from the photo on the other thread), but the quality of the snow and the lack of crowds goes a long way to making up for that. The last time I went - early August - the drag lift was litterally ski on ski off.

It could lose both of those advantages as the ski season takes off of course, but so far it's been positive - noticeably shorter, but better all round than Milton Keynes I think, and friends who've been to other indoor snow slopes (Birmingham/Manchester) say a similar thing in comparison to those too.

Id love to, but I darent risk my ankles on it. Im still building my strength back up in my right ankle after the summer went pear shaped. Sticking to footy and badminton atm, if I went and bust my ankle skiing indoors the wife would kill me and almost certainly insist it was time I stopped doing too much strenuous sports to stay fit frown
