Heart Rate Monitor
Discussion
Not sure whether this is the right section, or maybe watches?
Looking to get a HRM, mainly for gym use - I use Technogym equipment so guess I need an analogue belt, but I'm not too fussed if the digital versions are better as I can just look at the watch while running etc. The kit is a bit old, so don't think it will work with the new standard I read about - it doesn't use the Technogym key system either.
Saw this one on a site, seems to work out programmes etc for you: http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/suunto_t4c_heart...
Anyone else got recommendations/advice?

How strange. I was just reading about heart rate monitors and was about to start a thread.
Looking at the Suunto ones aswell.
Not really sure if there is much of a difference between the t4c or the t6c? Or if it's worth paying the extra for the t6c?
Sounds like it could help to improve my runs, but is it all just marketing/sales talk?

I have got a polar; it's good, compatible with every gym I have been to (I travel a lot in Europe so loads of different gyms and equipment, including technogym). At home I use it for running, worth noting it is not compatible with reebok home use cross trainer. For me the most important think was a comfy chest belt hence chose a polar wearlink for that main reason. Loads or the belts are fairly stiff plastic and get a bit uncomfy over an hour session.
My latest polar ( on my second) reminds you to train, sets goals and has own zone which is handy as you heart rate is different from day to day - it does change a surprising amount at different times of day etc.
No experience of sunnta so can't comment on theirs sorry.

Well.
Car needs some attention (gearbox), so I resisted buying anything. I can make do with just using the treadmills at the gym at the moment, but when I start getting outdoor a bit more, I'll probably get the T4C running pack, as the T6C is possibly overkill for me.
£55 from Sweatband seems to be the cheapest for the Footpod, according to Google.
