Anyone done the Great North Run??????

I'm in it this year and looking for some advice on the course.

I'm going to pop the big question to my better half at some point during the race (near the end) but have not got a clue where to tell her to wait. Ideally, needs to be close to the finish but in a quiet enough place so that I can actually see her to stop and drop to one knee.

Any ideas??

Run ahead of her at the end and wait on your knee exactly on the finishing line.

How about the run in by the seafront before the finish?

Have a word with someone from the Beeb (or Nova, the organisers) and you'll get on the TV maybe!

Then we can all have a laugh, should she decline - which I am sure she won't
