Yeah great performance but i really do think Defoe needs to start games now.. Heskey missed 3 great opportunities i thought. Could of done better..

Still a brilliant effor by the boys though!

brilliant effort by the whole team

i do think heskey will still start - i think he likes the whole aspect of supporting rooney upfront rather than having rooney supporting a fast striker

i just wish joe cole wouldnt be so injury hit so we could see him in a proper capello team.

was nice to hear capello not playing into the whole englishness thing

who said lampard and gerrard cant play in the same team?? wink

I was impressed that they still seemed to be goal hungry even after 90 minutes biggrin

thats one of the biggest differences wtih the englishness and the italishness. (my word i've invented it i stake a royalty fee of 5%)

the england of old would've sat back after the first goal - 83 minutes of solid defending.

Pretty impressive performance. Capello looks like he might become England's best manager ever - even if they never win the World Cup aqgain. He has a way about him which imparts steel and determination into the players - which was what was missing since probably the Alf Ramsey era.

Capello treats them as footballers rather than panders to them as prima donnas, I suspect.

+1, did you notice how he didn't go running on the pitch at the end of the game and start hugging all the players, he couldn't have stretched his arm out any further for those 'formal' handshakes, the body language of a prison warden who wants order and the best performance from his players, that ‘you will respect me win or lose’ that is breeding confidence in the players…’THIS IS MY TEAM’, you can see it in his steely eyes, Cappello might just......................no, I won’t say it!

lol no don't say it.. would be very nice though to bring it home again! and we are looking very good at the min, yeah i thought Teddy Sherringham was right when he said Capello is like the nasty headmaster. Seems to be working though.

I'm a big fan of Heskey, he just causes so many problems with his size and strength. Was a couple incidences where they gave away free kicks due to it; was Frank's saved blaster to the corner from one?

Then, just as the defence is coming to grips with controlling the beast, we can bring on defoe to just play around them biggrin

Nice to see a manager by the side of the pitch issuing instructions rather than one hiding in the stands or one under an umbrella.

If Capello had been manager 3 years ago - then maybe...

I'm not sure the current lot are good enough, but they have another year to mature.
