Murray's Clearly Not Turning Into Henman mark II

No. 2 in the world.
He has a long way to fall before he's "turning into Henman"
Henman was number 4 in the world and in the top ten for a decade. He still never won a slam. He has a long way to fall before he's "turning into Henman"
I fear the same is coming true for Murray. The US Open is his best chance for a Slam win, it's his best surface and he still can't go up against the big boys on the biggest stage. Don't forget that Nadal has been injured most of the season as well so I still consider Murray a #3 in all honesty.
How many times did Henman beat Federer?
How many times has Murray beat Federer?
That should go some way to answering your question.
Murray will win a GS, he's only 22 FFS. Since 2005 there has only been 1 winner of a GS except for Raf and Roger. It isn't easy you know but he will get it done.

Yea only #2 in the world... awful. I guess he should try harder
You do realise that world rankings actually mean diddly squat these days as to who is actually the best player? Just have a look at the womens game if you want proof.

Only in the 2nd tier tournaments though...not usually at one of the big 4 events.Greenie said:

Age when winning their first Grand Slam:Rafael Nadal 19
Lleyton Hewitt 19
Boris Becker 17
Pete Sampras 19
John McEnroe 20
Andy Roddick 21
Jimmy Connors 22
Andre Agassi 22
Roger Federer 22
So he'll need to get a move on, 22 is at the back end of when a future champion should be winning his first slam.

Are many of them British? Nobody is saying Murray will be anywhere near a list like that in the future, just that he might win some Grand Slam tournaments and is already much better than Henman was at his best.Rafael Nadal 19

This is the problem, that whilst it's a brilliant feat in absolute terms we cannot speak of him as comparable (with Nadal, et al) because quite unlike like all the best foreign talent, his undoubted success lacks the precociousness typical in the prodigious norm one would expect from any other country's offerings.
To wit, he would have won sommat big by now.
Having said that, unlike Timothy, he is actually f@cking superb and on his day can do it but such a triumph will be more a case of a previaling wind, Spirit of '66, etc, etc...
Certainly not indomitable, either, in the mould of any of the past masters.
He is still exceptional and tbh I was thinking no Brit would ever chieve remotely close to what he has, so...

So he has a 6-3 record against the greatest tennis player of all time and you dismiss it. Who else has a better record against Federer?
...and in Grand Slam Head-To-Heads?I mean come on, even Lleyton Hewitt had a slam in the bag at 19.
Sorry, but again I think we Brits have over-hyped one of own - I hope he succeeds but I fear he'll now slide down the table into the also-rans.
All IMHO
Don't think I'm going to get an answer to who has a better record against Federer-am I. It isn't tiddlywinks they play outside the Grand slams-they still play tennis you know.
Anyway we both seem pretty sure about our views so perhaps we could make it interesting. Are you a sporting man?
