How to do - Sea Fishing

Hi all. I've always fancied taking up fishing but have no idea about what to do, what equipment to buy and where to go.

I don't want to go fishing not to catch anything and i've always fancied beach fishing. I like being at the sea (in it or next to it) and remember seeing some guys in Oz beach fishing and thinking how it looks fun. Plus I want to catch edible fish that I don't have to return.

Any advice on what to buy in terms of gear and where to go in Kent. I know where to go in the Gower peninsular, where I'm from, but have no idea about where to go where I am living now (Maidstone).

Obviously I don't want to spend a fortune starting off, so basic kit and advice is what I'm after.

If you want to be sure you don't have to throw them back.

Go the the fish shop pick out a couple and get the guy behind the counter to throw them to you so you can honestly say you caught them.

Using a silver hook ( legal tender ) of course
