Went down to Poole on Saturday to watch a non-league match and spotted a lone flying fortress flying above - is it the "Memphis belle"? maybe not, as the mural on the nose is a different shape.

Edited to add, it looks like the "Sally b"

It was the Sally B - showing at the Bournemouth Air Festival, not too far away... surprised you didn't see more things flying around

the Sally B was actually one of the Memphis Belles in the film, wasn't it?

Where do I start - just prior to the game a Lancaster bomber escorted by a spitfire flew in at low level, lower than the fortress, straight over our pitch. eekcloud9 There were also WW2 fighters, the Vulcan and Red Arrows flying over too. One very cool day.

When the Lancaster and fighter flew over "that" low, the sound of the five merlins was enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!
