I've not seen a league two thread is it because there isn't enough of us league two fans around?

I'm (hangs head in shame) a grimsby fan and our prospects don't look too good at the minute. Any other leage two supporters?

Not a league two fan per se.. but i am keeping a close eye on our friends over the river trent(notts county) at the minute, as their arab buy out seems to be doing them a world of good.

Bury fan here. We have you at the weekend, reckon you are a bit of a bogey side for us at Gigg. We haven't beaten you up there for a while. Glad you started the thread, it's not all Premier League eh.

I was optimistic about this season, Newell has the chairmans backing and he has once again loosened the purse strings. We've signed some players that appeared quality and had a very good pre-season. Even the first half of the first game went our way after going 1 up at Cheltenham but its been same old Grimsby ever since.

I haven't been yet this year, I thought Cheltenham was too far and I couldn't make saturday due to a stag do and couldn't be bothered with last night after what my mates had told me about Saturdays performance.

But, apparantly we played a lot better last night (despite still losing) so I'm considering a trip to Bury on Saturday now (sucker for punishment lol)

Who's your brother in law samuelboydneal ?

How do you feel about Notts County coming in with the money. Should be interesting...

Thats the way football is going, while I don't think its a good thing for the game I can't begrudge County for doing it, I'd love a bit of investment in Grimsby but it just wont happen, we're just not a draw for people, its hard enough convincing players to sign never mind getting some investment.

It could go either way for county, if they're clever they'll steadily improve the infastructure and make clever signings (like posh) if not they'll sign an ex-international manager and spend all the money on washed up has beens (sol campbell has been linked) secretly I hope they do the latter

Reckon they might go down the clever route unfortunately. We got off to a dreadful start against Bournemouth but the last 2 games have been ok. Enjoy the trip up to Gigg if you go. We only get around 3000 a game so volunteers are most welcome laugh

I've never been to Gigg lane and quite fancy it but I think I'll leave going to games (especially away) until we start performing. I know that you should stay with your club through thick and thin but over the years I've spent far too much money on watching Grimsby get beaten, sometimes you just have to say enough is enough.

Yeah but the away games have been the best over the past few years......Shrews gay Meadow when Macca retired & Chester last season among my favourites......JPT at new Wembley was an awesome experience other than the result.

J Fenty has stood by the club through thick & thin financially too......we really could do with moving to Great Coates ASAP IMHO.

At least Alan Buckley got a well deserved boot up his arse.

This is my son.......made me fell very proud.

Not a massive footie fan as such ,but as a Hull lad living in Torquay I do cast the occaisonal eye on what they are up to - It does not seem many years ago they were playing in the same bloody league!

Torquay seem to have made a good start to playing league football once more - doing better than Hull in their respective league anyway!

He looks a great little Mariner! I used to love away games but the group I went with all seem to have drifted away and now I have a Mrs9 its difficult to justify spending all my time (and money) going away. I just have to stick with the games at Blundell Park. I've been all over watching town the game at Anfield being my personal favourite (jevvo from 35 yards out = magic!)

I agree though Fenty has done marvelously, unlike other clubs we haven't gone into administration we have and continue to work hard to settle our debts and stay in business, Fenty is not stupid and he has shown time and time again that he is prepared to spend and to guide the club. We do need to move to Great Coates but I can't see it happening any time soon unfortunately.
