Me and 3 mates have entered this earlier in the week.

10 Weeks away, 10km run, 10 Obstacles, 1 every 1km

Who has done it before, and who is doing it this year?

Yep, I'm doing Nottingham with a bunch of guys I train with. Going in the 3rd wave. Never done it before - or anything similar so probably going to get my arse handed to me but it'll be great fun!

Best,

Only 4 more days left!

Everybody ready?

Wave:5
Competitor No: 2050
Name: Luke Pearson
Team: Up to your nuts in guts

Lacking in training for the past few weeks, but should be a good laugh.

Wave: 3
Competitor No: 2517
Team: Streetwise

Last hard training sessions tomorrow (am and pm) then 2 days of stretching and 'carb loading' drink Going to get dragged out for a ruby the night before so should have plenty of extra propulsion for the big day!

Now that was fun! 1hr 31 mins, but would have been much quicker were it not for all the queues.

Might give it a go again next year...

That taxi was a nightmare. Still I couldn't see he point of skipping any part of the course - I turned up with the intention of finishing it!

Yep, did this in the summer. No chance in getting me to do the winter one!

The obstacles are alot better at toughguy and i found it more fun than survival of the fittest. Toughguy is more demanding on the upper body but i do prefer that to running!

How tough in the Men's Health event? Any tips? I am doing the Edinburgh one on Sunday and have to admit to doing no training other than 2 x 2 hours football training and a game on a Sat per week

Am I in trouble?

No, you're not. It's not easy, but it ain't difficult. If I could go back and do it again, I'd set a much faster pace and enter in Wave 1 to beat the queues!

How bad were the queues?

Without exaggeration I think I wasted 10 minutes or more waiting. It may have even been 20 mins! For an event with 3,000 entrants to have to go single-file over an obstacle is comical.

I found the only queues were on the water slide and then going through that sewer tunnel along with the ramp over the taxi.
But yeah a good 10mins or so with them all combined!
Toughguy is everyman for himself. Alot better as you can push people out of the way. But then again the queues for that are massive as all 5000+ entrants go off together

Anyone else do the Edinburgh one this weekend, I had a great time and got round in 54mins. My brother somehow managed it in 45 and had the cheak not to be out of breath!

Apart from the tough guy, anything else we should consider?
