If this is a re-post, I apologise.

This is a Ronseal Thread Title: the ultimate cricketing eleven. My opening gambit is:

Gordon Greenidge (c) (A cool opening hand, steady, strong hitter of the ball)
Matthew Hayden (The opposite of Gordon; fiery, and a destroyer of loose deliveries from opening bowlers)
Don Bradman ('nuff said)
Brian Lara (To prolong the pain of the bowling side)
Sachin Tendulkar (More pain for the bowling side)
Ian Botham (The ultimate XI needs an all-rounder for options, and Both was the best)
Adam Gilchrist (w) (Good hands, and can add the occasional century for good measure)
Shane Warne (need I say more)
Allan Donald (fast and accurate line and length)
Waqar Younis (for in-swinging yorkers with an old ball)
Abdul Qadir (for dizzying finger-spin)

I think that covers all the bases.

Or does it?

Over to you.
