So Exeter City's season kicked off tonight with a 2-2 draw at mighty Weston-super-Mare. Fantastic, the football season has now officially started!

Yep, it's finally here, took in Poole Town v AFC Bournemouth friendly on Weds which ended with a 2-1 win for the non league team and a bumper crowd of 1,350. Just got to wait till next Weds for the next game.

True! the summer break is becoming shorter and shorter. I think, all in all, I've had 3 weeks away from it, what with play-offs and other off field matters associated with the non-league club I also follow. Still it's all good fun!

Thank god, last weekend was another spent on DIY with my Peterborough 2009/2010 season ticket put away!

Next Tuesday sees the Posh V Spurs then the Friday of that week is Spurs V Barca at Wembley, not to mention Spurs' friendlies with Celtic/Hull/Wham being on Sky. (I'm a Spurs & Posh fan, although rarely go to Spurs nowadays)

Then 15 August a month today first home game of the season against Sheff Wed! Can't wait!

Looking forward to seeing Wright this season. We haven't signed any other strikers yet so if either of the "Mac attack" get injured he's going to be involved.

bristol city got a good lesson in total football last night losing to a classy Ajax team 4-0

city gave a game to around 20 players though so not a lot could be gained from the result but a few players did well.

Surely the season hasn't actually started yet.

Otherwise it wouldn't be called "Pre-season"

I don't bother watch the out of season friendlies, at the end of the day it is as fun as watching a training session.

Four games so far this season, but by far the best was the first game I've watched on a Saturday, this last weekend. A couple of beers, meet a few mates and watch how the team is shaping up with a hard fought game between two Champions of their respective leagues. And all in the nice country setting of Hungerford - three quid entrance, three quid for chicken tika masala & chips and £2.30 for a pint. One of the beauties of non-league football, they don't take the p155.

A friend was watching AC Milan play Chelsea the other day.

The stupid yanks were cheering the wrong team and were also given duff into by the commentator.

Contrast this to Wembley... A mate got me a ticket for last Friday - Celtic V Al Ahly and Spurs V Barca.

£50 for the ticket - crazy (I had tried to pull out after agreeing when drunk but it was too late and the ticket was bought)

£28 for the train - Nothing that I could do

£4 a pint

£8.70 for a burger and chips

in total I spent about £120 (and wasted half a days holiday) to see Barca put out the reserves.... never again.

I went Yesterday -wasn't quite as extravagant as you though - £30 ticket in the gods, £35 quid on food and beer, £14 travel. Still best part of £100 to see Celtic walk it.

We had pretty good seats:

Although I'm gonna be picky and say that I dont like sitting behind the goal, I can't follow the action as well as being sat on the halfway line!

Talking to a mate last night who's a big Celtic fan, he took his lads as well as a pack of Tennents. For some reason he was in the Spurs end, paid thirty quid a ticket and thought it was well over priced. He had a good time though and through his intoxicated state stood up and sung every time Celtic fans broke into song, much to the anoyance of Spurs fans around him hehe
