Maybe it wasnt his choice? Im not a huge fan of either Man U or Ronaldo but they will not be able to replace him and will be worse off without him, as he is irreplacable for them

Sad day for the PL too

I thought about him, but you can be sure if i picked him he would have his worst season ever.

Agree, never ultimately Fergie's decision...But I suspect he has had enough of CR dictating too and for that cash accepted it was best to move on for all concerned.

Kinda looks like he was being held against his will by Fergie:

MSN Today:

Man United Statement

"At Cristiano's request - who has again expressed his desire to leave - and after discussion with the player's representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player."

Not in my opinion, he's an arrogant, petulant, cheat and that overshadows his brilliance. Most neutrals can't even stand to look at the pig, and that makes watching his wonderful talents a net loss. I can't even see Man Utd have lost, with such a collossal amount of cash at their disposal.

Steady on mate. Barcelona were lucky to even be in the Champion's League Final, Real Madrid were wk last season, and just because Kaka and that prick have joined does not guarantee success. As for the rest of the Spanish sides, they would be hard pressed in The Championship.

The Premier League is still by far the best league in the world.

I don't dispute that its still the best/strongest/toughest etc league in the world - its just that it puts it firmly into the also-ran category when it comes to where the VERY best want to play their football. Thats why I said 'Kudos' League - in other respects the Spanish league is way behind the EPL.

There is NO EPL team that could have got both Kaka & Ronaldo in the same week.

I can appreciate what the kid has done for us so far...but he has been turning into a pain. always being selfish on the big stage, throwing tantrums, courting the press on speculation etc... No doubt he has been vital in the goal scoring area and he will be missed on the pitch, but not irreplaceable. At 80mill??? we can have a few players at 80% of his calibre.

Ronaldo might be a good player, but teams have learnt to contain him over the years his contributions in the future would follow a diminishing path as his counterparts in other teams get more effective against him. Selling him now at the highest price is the perfect strategy, more players, less headaches, better overall team!

He wont be playing against MAN U in the league and Real isnt going to be a super team cos of kaka and ronaldo alone. So if we ever meet him in the CL...im sure his old team mates will have a fair idea of how to contain him!

Exactly, it's pathetic to think that the PL has lost it's kudos because one player leaves. Are.You.Having.A.Laugh.

Attitudes like this are what have created Ronaldo's ego. He thinks he's bigger than UTD. Ferguson knows it, and he's gonna leave him to self destruct at Real. Just cannot see him performing without the structure Ferguson provides.
