Thought i'd start a thread for all new signings of the close season so I only need to check out the one place for any news.

1st one to start off Gareth Barry to Man City for £12m.

Birmingham city:

Christian Benitez Ecuador international with a good goal scoring record at international and club level signed for an initial £6mill which could rise to upto £9mil.

Scott Dann, england under 21 international, from Coventry signed for £3.5 mil which could raise slightly but only by upto a believed £500k.

Stephen Carr signed on a free , played immense for us last season, IMO our best defender of the 08 09 season.

Stuart Taylor signed for Man City as cover for Shay Given to allow Joe Hart to go on loan to Birmingham. Any Birmingham fans on here your lucky as Joe is a great keeper & will be Englands no1 for a long time to come.

Thought this topic would be alight with speculation and whatnot. Anyway, pleased to see Villa sign Downing, be interesting to see how that changes our midfield, maybe Young playing more centrally supporting Carew or Milner/Downing playing the Barry box-to-box role.

I know one you aren't getting.

JT

Fair play to you though, exiting times having all this cash to splash.

Just wait until you start to upset the apple cart with your neighbors and the Mickeys.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Nice to see the fickle fans of City and Chelsea 'uniting' in their pathetic attempts to buy a fleeting moment of success.

CFC are a great example of what money can do, as were Blackburn in the early 90s.

You can buy all the big names under the sun, and they may buy you a few trophies. But they won't buy continued success.

It's going to be very amusing to see over a billion quid's worth of big names stumble and fail to win the big one again.

Hanging around a bit longer than Blackburn though.

Plus we were winning things before the Rich Russian came around.

A billion quid now is it ?

Eh?

What the hell did CFC win before they became a rich man's toy? - the odd cup here and there, that's what.

And yes, between City and Chelsea, there will be well over a billion quid's worth of players wondering why they still haven't won any of the big two trophies come the end of next season.

Unsustainable spending will kill the game - all it takes is either CFC's or MCFC's sugar-daddies to lose interest and the clubs will go the way of Leeds United.

No history, no class, and, if trophies don't arrive, no fans. Just like it always used to be.

Chelsea FC, founded 1905, That's over a hundred years of "History". Or are you just all about glory hunting cup and league wins. Because for me it's the bad times as well as high times.

Try looking a little further than the back page of the Sun.

Anyway Night night.
