Every club should sample some glory. Football will carry on into eternity, so you never know Lincoln City could be playing Inter Milan in the CL final come the year 2067.

We (Oldham) have been in this awful division for bloody ages (longest serving IIRC).........I'm guessing we'll still be here in 12 months time frown

I think Leeds will go up this year possibly as champions, I still expect the 3 relegated clubs to do well although that's not always the case for teams dropping down a division.

Looks a tough division though.

Hopefully we will, although seems we prefer to do things the hard way. If we keep the current squad largely together and a few decent signings in the right places then I think Larry can get us promotion next season.

So far Douglas and Dave Lucas have been released, and Beckford and Richardson have been offered new contracts so assume we're looking for a RB and a keeper. Would like to see us sign Sodje too as he was really good for us in the few months we had him

Nic, If Saints go into liqidation they won't start as high up as the Conference, they would have to do what all new clubs do and start at the very bottom. In their case the Hampshire league, which would be level 11 in the national league pyramid, it would take at least 7 years to get back their league status.

IIRC they owe approx £27.5 million, allegedly £4 mill as an overdraught and £23 mill for the cost of the ground. You have to ask why they haven't repackaged their debt? after all it is in the best interest of the Co's the money is owed to, to try and sort things out with the club.

Millwall supporter of 36 years even though these days I also find myself involved at non league, due to family commitments. What a day Sunday was, I went from party mood to a downer, then an upper when we equalised with one of the best goals I've ever witnessed, and what a stage to witness it on as well. Then to total elation 3 minutes later when we took the lead, followed by an area of intense nerves and then total depression as Scu.nthorpe moved up a gear and won the game. Still feel like shi.te now but in all honesty Scu.nthorpe deserved it, after all they had won all three encounters this season. Good Luck to them next season.

As for Millwall's chances next term, who knows? off the pitch things look settled with the latest Chairman, American John Berylsford, coming up with the readies and enjoying his role. With others like Heather Rabbats, Andy Ambler etc totally commited this gives a steady ship for Kenny Jacket to concentrate on 'pitchside' matters. JB had talks with the 'Fan on the board' soon after Wembley and he has made it clear he wants promotion next season after his brief flirt with success this season, albeit limited. One of the tasks he is faced with is marketing the club and getting bums on seats and for once the general sale of tickets for Wembley and no trouble bodes well for a relaxation of certain restrictions at the Den, which would help bring in more fans. Things in all areas seem to be moving in the right direction in and if KJ can add wisely I see no reason why the Lions can't aim for one of the top two automatic promotion places. He has already started by adding Stevenage Borough's top scorer, Steve Morison, who scored 31 goals this season, to the squad in the last week.

Apparently not, the rules are odd but they will only drop them 2 or 3 levels if they restart using the same(ish) infrastructure I believe and the rumour factory says they've spoken with both the Conference and Conference South regarding starting again there.

When Telford United became AFC Telford they didn't fall right to the bottom of the Pyramid either iirc.

Well Saints are my club and I'd be gutted to see us drop too much further, but rules are rules and we have to follow them.

Not sure about us being 16:1 to get promoted... we are starting with a 10 point deduction....

Not sure about Telford, Nic, the only ones I know of; AFC Wimbledon who had to start back down at the Combined Counties league, Aldershot who went back to the Hants league and Scarborough who went down to the unibond league.

Those odds look very stacked in the favour of where the money is going and not on true form. MK Dons and Milwall are both tougher sides than Leeds who should have walked this league for 2 seasons and may now struggle to hold onto their big guns.

The teams coming in make the league hard on paper but they are also ones at risk of collapse if the money runs out.

Its going to be hard not to have a fiver each way on us to win the league though 50/1 sounds like a bargain.

Actually to cover the cost of following us away I'll need £500 on that league win, 10,000+ miles in a season sounds like a lot of work. Carlisle, Leeds, Stockport, Oldham and Huddersfield are the only away matches that are driveable to in 2 hours (ish) everything else is a proper day out.

Spoke too soon didnt I

Apparently he's turned down a new contract, so he's been transfer listed. He's either being a greedy , or Papa Smurf is being a tight , not enough info about so far to see which is nearest the truth

A tale of two extremes on the South Coast with Pompey being bought out by a wealthy Arab and Souhampton's still continuing to struggle. Unfortunately it looks like Saints will be at a major disadvantage by the time the new season starts.
