I was amused by the Radio 1 sports report this morning. Apparently the Aussies have "selected their team to lose the Ashes this summer" hehe

Yes, that raised a smile when I heard it too, I think it will be close but the Aussies will prove a bit too strong.

The Aussies are undeniably weaker than 2005 - but imo so are we ...

They have 11 players who have never played in an Ashes series in this country ... but I still think we'll be up against it this summer to win them back - personally I can't wait for us to have a go though!

Nice of us to play their young opener Phil Hughes into form though before it all starts - the bloke has made three centuries. rolleyes

Lee is the least of your worries

If Stuart Clarke is fit, he will be a series winner.

I think the only hope of England winning the Ashes is if ANderson continues to swing the ball both ways at 90 mph with control. That sort of bowling is match winning if it can be done with consistent control - as happened in 2005 for Jones and Flintoff with the reverse swing.

Despite what people are saying I feel that England should be favourites, IMO the Aussies are much weaker than last time but I dont think we are...
Cook is improving test by test
Bopara is looking like a genuine number 3
Collingwood and Pietersen will always get runs
Broad is turning into a class act with bat and ball....ditto Graeme Swan
Anderson is up there with the best in the world at the minute
and finally..Onions could be a key player as well, full and straight wicket to wicket bowler.

Should be an interesting summer!
