Don't know if anyone here can help me at all.

We're buying a house and moving in on Friday, with stables and a menage / manege thingy, with the rubber topping on it.

The thing is that we're not into horses, well four legged type horse power anyway, and so I'd like to turn the menage back into paddock.

Apparently, it cost a shed load of money to build and I just wondered if anyone ever buys them on the basis of the buyer removing the stone, layers of terram and rubber stuff?

Any ideas please?

Hi, only just spotted this thread. Unless you really must remove it don't, the trouble trying to get one with the local councils permission is horrendous. If it doesn't have permission keep quiet and let time roll by. You could always hire it out per half or full hour to local riders by advertising locally. If you really think it must go you can purchase the 'Horse and Hound' flick to the classifieds at the back and you will find menege constructors and they will quote you how much it would cost to build the same as you have [usually start at about 12,000] and they can advise you on how much the base and surface would cost and what would be a fair price to advertise yours for. I have seen a couple of previously laid arenas for sale as a package to remove and relocate which have sold in this mag. Ht FFF.

Thanks for that.

Just moved in and back on line today.

They have planning permission and it was a no expense spared job but we really don't need it nor want it, so will advertise it as you suggest.

If it was away from the house then we'd keep it but it's just at the end of the patio at the back of the house and so we look out onto it and then open countryside.
