Rock climbing for Windsurfing?

Any of you guys/gals go to indoor rock climbing arenas for fitness training for other sports? Im a windsurfer during the summer but when I go out I really just survive on technique trying to shift weight around to take pressure off the arms and always feeling the lactic burn when the wind dial turns up I would like to be fitter in my upper body strenth so I can be out there for longer and relax a bit. I heard these indoor rock climbing places are just the ticket? I go to the gym but its just not cutting it..Hhhmmm

Rock climbing's great for a lot of things, core strength, upper body, grip, balance and so on.

when windsurfing do you use a harness? Always used to help me take the pressure off my arms.

Yes I do wear a harness and make sure my boom and harness lines are adjusted correctly. Its those powered up moments where the energy drain comes on. I will look into the local rock climbing places, bound to be something near me. I am in New Zealand btw

I use climbing to develop my strength for martial arts, as recommended by one of my "self defence" instructors. He said it's better than weights as it develops proper strength (rather than Muscle Mary looks).

Thanks, I since got talking to a guy yesterday who has represented NZ at Olympics before and he said he often uses those man made rock walls to practice on and I should try it.
