How much?

Most people are salaried to be x-amount per year, so why are footballer wages given/told in weekly?

When you take into account the Rooney's (over 100k) and the Ronaldos (I heard around 120k!?) then the Hull city players, the Stoke city players who will probably be on an average of 20-30k, I'd say on average £45k? Complete guess work though.

From the Guardian last month, apparently it's £21k per week.

If there are a few on the 100k+ which we know about, it would be interesting to know the median as well as the mean on this. I guess if the top 4 average 40k per week, that the likes of West Brom etc must be on 6k ish?

(Yes it is lots of cash)

3 years ago the average Championship wage was £3750 a week, so i'd guess a current bottom Prem league team would be about £10,000.

Google 'John Arne Riise payslip' if you want to see what he was earning in 2006. It was stolen by a Liverpudlian, someone who no doubt began loudly questioning the moral values of society when he spotted what Riise earned.
